Penultimate Wedding 2016.
It was my penultimate wedding for 2016 a dark December’s day, I was on my way to The Beals hotel in Hatfield when I received a message from Kathryn. There was a change of plan I had to go to the bride’s parent’s house first where the groom and his brothers were getting ready for their wedding.
I arrived 10 minutes early went inside the house where I met Jordan and his three brothers for the first time, two of them were best men and Jordon’s daughter and their son with the parents were also there.
I got to work photographing all the intimate moments, Kathryn’s dad made everyone bacon sandwiches Miles the younger brother posed for the camera. Jordan got out the Bollinger we all toasted the wedding.
It was time to move on, 10 minutes’ drive to the hotel I followed the bride’s parents we got there in good time, we went to the room were Kathryn was still getting ready all the bridesmaids were there, all eight within the small hotel room, having their hair and make-up done.
I started to take pictures of the bride getting ready bouquet of flowers and plenty drinking of champagne and all the intimate details.
Its times like this that I like to blend in so I don’t get noticed that way I can capture more intimate shots of the bride laughing with her bridesmaid’s, hair spray being applied and so on.
It was time for me to move on to the wedding venue, The Riding School, Hatfield House a beautiful venue a converted stables ideal for weddings and conferences. I wanted to capture the guests arriving, Catherine was running late we had to move fast.
I got to the venue, the registrar spoke to me expressed her concerns that the bride was going to be very late and that she might not be able to conduct the ceremony, she had two other weddings later that day and she couldn’t afford to be late, she asked me not to take any pictures of the bride getting out of the car, posing by the car as they had to move quickly and speak to her before the wedding ceremony. Jordan looked worried but he was still chilled, quite clearly he was in love with his future wife. Kathryn arrived 25 minutes late she had to rush I quickly took some pictures of her in the Aston Martin as she scrambled out she then rushed to meet the registrars. The wedding ceremony had to begin in haste.
The ceremony was over with in 15 minutes no speeches or songs. The bride and groom looked into each other’s eyes, kissed passionately they were man and wife, the registrars left in a hurry and I started to take pictures of the bride and groom with the family, on the balcony and on the stairs. It was raining so we didn’t go outside.
The day progressed well and the cake looked scrumptious the evening meal passed, all the guest were chilled and enjoying the day.
It was time for the first dance, the oldest son, about nine years old came on halfway through the slow dance as the music changed and breakdanced on the floor he was brilliant.blog, wedding,
It was nearly time to finish, I took some more pictures of the bride and groom on the dance floor and said my goodbyes.
What a fun couple and family to phototroph thank you for letting me be your wedding photographer for the day.
