I arrived at Theobalds Park 30 minutes early to meet Michelle who was interested in hiring me for her wedding photography in six weeks’ time. I found her sitting in reception reading a magazine I went up to her and introduced myself.
It turned out she used to work in the same catering company as me before I became a full-time wedding photographer, we had a lot in common. I showed her my photo wedding albums she was very impressed. We began to discuss what her and Ray’s requirements would be, on their very special day. I told her that I had did a wedding here in May, Courtney and Jamie. I told her about the room as we moved the settee to get access to the window for good photos, the dust was an inch thick! We both laughed, being we had both worked many years in the hospitality industry. After a coffee and a final chat, it was time to go and to plan for her special day.
Six weeks later I was back at the hotel to photographed Michelle and Rays wedding day. I went to the hotel room to find Michelle in the room with her father and her two bridesmaids and her oldest son. Everyone was really excited and happy. Michelle looked radiant and beautiful. Her makeup and hair was finish she just had to change into her wedding dress. I left the room to go and find Ray who was also staying in the hotel. He was in his room with his best man and Michelle’s youngest son. They all looked very smart and debonair in their suits. I began to take some pictures of them in the room and then we went outside to take pictures in front to the hotel.
It was soon time for the service, I managed to get some photos of the guests arriving and then stood at the front of the ceremonial room to take some pictures of Ray and his best man waiting for Michelle to walk down the aisle. In she came with her youngest son and her father she looked amazing! They smiled at each other then kissed they were both so happy. I took some pictures, always remembering to be discreet and as quiet as possible and not to stand in the way of the guests.
After they signed the registrar we went to the library for some drinks and then outside the hotel for the group shots. We were lucky with the weather, the morning had been raining cats & dogs now the sun was shining.
Further pictures were taken of the family and Michelle & Ray then it was time for the wedding breakfast, speeches, the cutting of the cake and the evening dance.
Michelle and Ray where such a lovely couple they were so obviously deep in love Michelle was so emotional. Thank you both very much for a lovely day I know you will be truly happy in love for the rest of your lives. x
