Wedding at Pembroke Lodge, Richmond with Claudia & Walter

Claudia and Wally’s wedding at Pembroke Lodge in Richmond Park was full of laughter, personality and genuine fun from start to finish. From their relaxed engagement shoot the week before to a playful cake moment during the reception, their wedding was a perfect reflection of who they are as a couple.

Claudia is English, Wally is American, and together they created a wedding atmosphere that felt joyful, informal and completely them.

Bridal Preparations at The Petersham Hotel

Claudia’s bridal preparations took place at The Petersham Hotel in Richmond, a beautiful setting overlooking the Thames and just a short distance from Pembroke Lodge. The hotel’s elegant rooms and soft natural light created a calm, relaxed atmosphere, ideal for the morning of the wedding.

Wally was there as well, along with members of his family who had flown over from America, which made the morning feel especially meaningful. Having both sides of the family together before the ceremony added to the sense of occasion and warmth.

There was plenty of laughter during the preparations, while Claudia’s dad could be heard rehearsing his speech, adding a lovely, informal moment to the morning. Couple Photos Around Pembroke Lodge

For Claudia and Wally’s couple photos, we took a short walk around the side of Pembroke Lodge, making use of the building’s elegant architecture and the surrounding greenery of Richmond Park. Pembroke Lodge offers a fantastic variety of backdrops within a very small area, which means couples never have to be away from their guests for long.

It was quite a windy day, and while the breeze added movement and energy to some of the photos, it also meant guests felt the wind when outside — something Richmond Park is well known for. The changing conditions added to the atmosphere and gave the day a real sense of place.

A Joyful Wedding Day Full of Laughter

From the moment guests arrived, it was clear this was going to be a wedding filled with fun. Claudia and Wally’s guests were full of energy, laughter and warmth, creating a brilliant atmosphere throughout the day.

Some guests even brought stickers made from photos of Claudia and Wally, including on the wedding cake itself — a brilliant and personal touch that had everyone smiling. These little details are what make each wedding unique and so enjoyable to photograph.

Wedding Breakfast, Speeches and Laughter at Pembroke Lodge

The wedding breakfast at Pembroke Lodge was full of energy from the moment Claudia and Wally were announced and danced their way into the room, setting the tone for what was to come. Their entrance immediately had guests laughing and relaxed, creating a brilliant atmosphere for the speeches.

The speeches were a real highlight, filled with humour, warmth and a few surprises along the way. Old photographs from their childhood and from the time they first met made an appearance, prompting plenty of laughter and the occasional moment of embarrassment — all taken in great spirits. These personal touches brought everyone together and added an extra layer of meaning to the celebration.

Throughout the wedding breakfast, the room was alive with laughter, reactions and genuine emotion, making it a wonderful part of the day to photograph. Pembroke Lodge’s bright dining room and relaxed setting provided the perfect backdrop for capturing natural moments as they unfolded.

A Playful Cake Moment

One of the standout moments of the day came during the cake cutting. Claudia, clearly in a playful mood, pushed cake into Wally’s face, much to the delight of their guests. It was spontaneous, fun and completely unplanned — exactly the kind of moment that tells the real story of a wedding day.
